AIA, Orange County
The Institute advances awareness, education, fieldwork, preservation, publication, and research of archaeological sites and cultural heritage throughout the world.
The AIA Orange County Society, a separate entity (501c3) affiliated with the Archaeological Institute of America, provides lectures, trips, and educational support to increase and disseminate archaeological knowledge and advance the mission of the AIA.
The AIA Orange County Society was founded in 1991 by Norma Kershaw, who had also, 23 years prior to this, founded the Long Island society. Over the years, we have grown to over one hundred members, with many more who have attended lectures and events we’ve hosted. Our members include both professional archaeologists and educators as well avocational enthusiasts.
We currently hold lectures in the DeNault auditorium in Grimm Hall at Concordia University in Irvine, and we thank our hosts for the use of this wonderful facility.
